Client, part of the Piovan Group, is the world's largest supplier of dust removal solutions for plastic processors and manufacturers. Aside from the plastics business, dedusting technology is also employed in the food, mineral, and recycling industries. In 2003, the business began expanding into the pneumatic conveying area, developing a novel pressure conveying technique known as pellcon3 . Client has a large selection of pneumatic conveying components, including rotary valves, diverter valves, and shut-off valves, that are specifically intended for the conveyance of pellets and powder. Another Client innovation, the Pellbow , is a unique pipe elbow used in the plastics sector to prevent dust and streamers from entering the conveying system.

Role

The Electrical and instruments Engineer is in charge of the design, specification, and installation of electrical equipment such as control panels, motors, and instruments in engineering contracts. This job will report to the Director of Engineering and is based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create sequence of operation/logic narratives for PLC logic and HMI screen programming.
  • Lead the design, sizing, and selection of electrical equipment and control systems for projects in compliance with the project parameters and budget.
  • Create and manage project P&ID drawings.
  • Review and validate electrical control schematics created by sub-suppliers or third-party vendors.
  • Prepare PLC programming and HMI screens for project controls systems, as needed.
  • Create and manage project motor and instrument lists.
  • Create electrical drawings (Panel Layout and PLC I/O) for standard components, as well as unique solutions for engineering contracts, as needed.
  • Coordinate all electrical and instrumentation design and scope of supply needs with necessary customer, sub-supplier, and third-party vendor counterparts;
  • Ensure that all required project technical documentation, such as P&IDs, equipment drawings, general arrangement drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, specification sheets, data sheets, sequence of operation/logic narratives, and IOM manuals, is complete and meets the customer's electrical and instrumentation requirements.
  • Define and specify electrical control schematics for designed systems and equipment packages.
  • Create and maintain internal electrical and instrumentation standards; collaborate with client, customer, and ISA data sheets;
  • Direct and participate in controls systems FAT testing.
  • Support Production/Assembly processes by conducting electrical shop testing of equipment packages prior to dispatch.
  • Provide sales assistance and project input as needed.
  • Develop and construct a start-up and commissioning strategy for client contracts; prepare the necessary documentation.
  • Resolve any client concerns about assigned tasks in a timely and cost-effective way.
  • Support start-up operations at client sites as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (B.S.); and five (5) years related experience and/or training in Electrical Engineering, P&ID drawings, plant process development, and instrumentation; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Use of AutoCAD P&ID and AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software package;
  • Experience with material handling and pneumatic conveying & Electrical instrumentation background or experience preferred;
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop documents such as technical specifications, engineering reports, blueprints, office procedures, parts lists, and price book;
  • Ability to speak effectively, both on one on one, and in groups with vendors, customers, and employees of the Company;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form;
  • Ability to solve practical problems, resolve conflicts, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardized exists;
  • Ability to travel to vendors and customer premises;
  • Ability to climb ladders to platforms and silos in customer plants.
