Job Description

About the Role

Sibylline Ltd is looking for an outstanding GSOC Analyst to join us in an embedded role within a client's security team. Based in San Francisco, CA and reporting to the embedded GSOC Supervisor, the GSOC Analyst is primarily tasked with alarm management, customer service, facilities support, and incident response as part of a 24/7 security operations team. The GSOC Analyst will also participate in enhancing the team’s threat intelligence capability for determining the likelihood and impact of threats against the client’s people, assets, operations and reputation (such as civil unrest, crime, terrorism, extreme weather, health hazards or technical failures).

This role would particularly suit a recent or imminent graduate, early-career security professional, or anyone with an interest in getting into the security industry. The GSOC uses a variety of tools such as global access control and alarm monitoring systems, integrated video monitoring systems, enhanced visitor management systems, and in-house applications used to detect threats and incidents that may impact the company. Applicants must therefore be willing to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, with the ability to research and analyze a wide range of information and create analysis in accordance with strict deadlines.

This position requires the ability to work on weekends and holidays on a rotation schedule. This requires flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the client and shift workload. You must be a self-starter, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Whilst the GSOC Supervisor and Manager will provide daily supervision, the GSOC Operator will also have full access to Sibylline’s embed management team. Full support and guidance will be provided from our head office, including training and professional development.

This position represents an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to continue their development as an intelligence professional with a leading firm growing at 50% per year. We offer strong career progression and are invested in building individuals' personal professional profiles. Moreover, being embedded truly offers “the best of both worlds”, giving a small firm ethos alongside large firm exposure and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure timely response to incidents, alarms, notifications, and calls for service;
  • CCTV and Alarm monitoring escalation and triage requests;
  • Evaluate and process information received from all available sources, and respond with appropriate communication, analytic reporting, and incident response procedures;
  • Ensure all forms of communications, such as written reports, emails, phone conversations, and personal interactions are conducted in a confidential, courteous, and professional manner and documented appropriately;
  • Maintain knowledge of the GSOC specific standard operating procedures;
  • Manage physical security and control functions at designated locations;
  • Communicate security issues or emergency situations by escalating information to department leadership, local law enforcement, emergency services, such as EMT, Fire Departments, etc;
  • Participate regularly in security/safety training programs to stay current on critical GSOC responsibilities and competencies inclusive of drills and tabletop exercises; and
  • Engage with Sibylline Intel Ops and other embedded teams to enhance skills, knowledge and best practices, with a view to developing new intelligence products for the client.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (Criminal Justice, Security Studies, or related fields) or equivalent work experience in fields such as security, research and analysis, investigations, or customer service;
  • Attentive, organized, and detail oriented;
  • A quick learner with the ability to multi-task;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment;
  • A strong team player with the ability to work independently as needed;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Flexibility and ability to work all shifts (24/7 operations), willingness to assist the team with overtime as needed;
  • Full existing authorisation to live and work in the US.

Preferred

  • College / university degree;
  • Experience with mass notification systems (e.g. Everbridge);
  • Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV monitoring systems, and other incident management and/or security platforms;
  • Experience with security applications such as Lenel and Genetec;
