JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for gathering data and preparing spreadsheets for the purpose of ensuring security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification and system performance review. The primary duties are to produce documents that will be used to assist in the control of inventory and maintenance of records for analysis and reconciliation in order to determine and understand root causes of excess inventory. Will assist in the implementation of process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy. Heavy use of Excel and recordkeeping metrics and tools. Requires basic knowledge of shipping/receiving, stockroom functions and shop floor controls. Position requires someone who is willing and able to support varied material control functions. Requires normal supervision. 
In addition, will be responsible for maintaining the Property Management System to ensure continual accountability of Government, customer and company property in accordance with applicable government regulations, contractual requirements and company policies. Requires working knowledge of the functional elements of property control, FAR, DFAR and best practices for control of property.  Interfaces with government agencies, customers, subcontractors, suppliers, remote MDSI sites and MDSI personnel. Must be a self-starter with strong analytical, communication and customer service skills who can work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
"    Compile inventory data in Excel,
"    Assist in development of reports and distribution of data to internal customers
"    Prepare and maintain related inventory documentation. 
"    Resolves problems associated with inventories and planning schedules.
"    Prepares status reports as required. 
"    Maintains an approved Property Control System.
"    Performs property life cycle activities from the acquisition of assets to final disposition, including all functional elements. Identifies and troubleshoots problems and initiates necessary corrective actions.
"    Coordinates and records property movement.
"    Performs supplier property system audits and surveillance, including property verification at suppliers' facilities. 
"    Performs property inventories and prepares annual property reports (DD1662)
"    Maintains procedures covering property control.
"    Reviews proposals and contracts for property clauses, flow downs and requirements. Works closely with Contracts and customers to resolve contractual issues with property and provides appropriate recommendations.
"    Maintains well-organized property storage area.
"    Performs other tasks as assigned.

  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training. AA or college degree preferred.  Experience with material and production planning information systems in a manufacturing/assembly environment (MPS/MRP) preferred.
