Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Site Development Engineer with a minimum 2 years of experience in the design and regulatory permitting of site plans, drainage studies, stormwater collection systems, Best Management and Low-impact Development practices, and erosion control facilities for construction. The ideal candidate should have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) at a minimum, with eventual licensure as a Professional Engineer desired. Specific experience in site/civil design and permitting for water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance projects is advantageous.

The candidate should be able to effectively and proactively coordinate with regulatory officials to acquire necessary permits related to project tasks. All project work will require coordination with in-house design disciplines (Process-Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Architectural, etc.) and other offices/regions to ensure site design and permitting requirements are considered and incorporated. Some local and regional travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic calculations and modeling software.
  • Technical proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D 2022, including use of roadway alignments, pipe networks, profiles, surface creation/manipulation, grading, and sheet set management. Familiarity with Revit/BIM and Autodesk Vehicle Tracking is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of regulatory permitting requirements in NC and SC, including local and state regulations.
  • Possess understanding of site survey practices, shop drawing reviews, and construction management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, designers, and project managers to meet project milestones.
  • Capacity to independently manage individual tasks across various projects, including a willingness to take ownership of work performed.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic Office 360 skills.
  • Educational/Certification Requirements:

    • BS Civil Engineering
    • FE (Required); PE (Preferred)
