for Enrollment Management
POSITION SUMMARY
The Office Manager will be responsible for the coordination and successful operation of all administrative operations within the Enrollment Management Department, to ensure compliance with institutional, federal, and state regulatory policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong background in administrative management, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team.
The Office Manager will plan and participate in enrollment activities related to marketing, programming, outreach and reporting, and other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment Management. Travel and working some weekends and holidays may be required during peak enrollment periods.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, develop, organize, evaluate, and manage administrative operations to ensure proper processing of documents and compliance with policies and procedures
- Prepare documents and reports in accordance with university guidelines and review/approve documents as necessary
- Supervise the processing and maintenance of administrative records, including preparation of reports and serving as the representative/liaison for administrative matters
- Maintain a technical set of documents, policies, and procedures, providing analysis and recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to administrative management or special projects
- Provide direction, training, and project management duties for staff members and subcontracted parties
- Manage and maintain records for inventory and facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Enrollment Management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Three (3) to four (4) years of experience in a customer service-related position preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information in an understandable manner
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience compiling data and preparing routine reports
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to initiate major projects under broad direction in collaboration with the management team
- Advanced knowledge of organizational structure, policies, rules, and procedures, preferred.
- Experience in coordinating special programs and projects, preferred.
- Experience with budget management and financial tracking, preferred.
SUPERVISION
- This position reports to the Dean of Enrollment Management
SALARY RANGE
- $40,000 annually, plus benefits
POSITION STATUS
- Full-time, in-person.
SETTING
Founded in 1875, Huston-Tillotson University is Austin's first institution of higher education. The University is an independent, liberal arts, church-related, historically black institution located on a 23-acre tree-lined campus near downtown Austin, Texas. The University is affiliated with United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, and the United Negro College Fund. Undergraduate, four-year degrees in business, education, the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences are awarded.
