The Provider Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of hospital services by coordinating with providers and hospital administration.

Schedule Management:

  • Create and maintain inpatient and on-call schedules for all assigned hospitals.
  • Ensure schedules are updated regularly to reflect any changes or adjustments.
  • Coordinate with providers to accommodate shift preferences and availability.

Communication:

  • Communicate schedules to all relevant parties, including providers, hospital administration, and other stakeholders.
  • Notify providers and relevant stake holders of any changes or updates to the schedules.
  • Address and resolve scheduling conflicts promptly and professionally.

Coordination:

  • Work closely with hospital administration to understand staffing needs and requirements.
  • Collaborate with providers to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts and on-call periods.
  • Coordinate with credentialing teams to ensure all providers are properly credentialed for their assigned locations.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of schedules, shift changes, and communication logs.
  • Generate and distribute schedule reports as required.
  • Ensure all scheduling data is accurately entered into the scheduling system.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to scheduling and staffing.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations regarding scheduling practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of provider and patient information.

Payroll Verification:

  • Review additional earnings requests regarding inpatient work to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the payroll department to verify that all scheduled hours, on-call hours, and any additional earnings are correctly documented and processed

Skills:

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Other duties as assigned


Other Requirements: Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.


Requirements:

Education High School Diploma or equivalent - required

Associate degree in hospital administration, accounting, finance, or related field - preferred

Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in hospital scheduling – surgery, call, etc.

Skills Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Programs
