The primary job function of the Material Handler is to pull stored wholesale products for the replenishment positions, store wholesale product inventory upon receipt, and maintain accurate inventory control procedures. The Inventory Material Handler is a member of our Operations Team. On this fast paced team, you will become familiar with our operations and inventory flow. It is a role that is challenging and rewarding.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Represent PBK professionally, responsibly, and passionately to all stakeholders
  • Pulls product with a forklift to supply the replenishment position with product needed to replenish the pick shelves
  • Recheck locations upon request for proper inventory accuracy
  • Pull wholesale inventory for specific orders, receive containers, and puts away received product
  • Use scanners to move freight in/out of bulk
  • Responsible for maintaining a satisfactory sanitation level for assigned areas
  • Operate order picker lift and/or forklift used in performance of replenishment duties in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
  • Attend meetings & training
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor, manager or his/her designee

Job Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to work in a team environment but perform tasks self-sufficiently
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking
  • Strong attention to safety and knowledge of safety programs/policies
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Stakeholder satisfaction including customers, teammates, owner, and suppliers
  • Order Picking efficiency and accuracy

Education:

Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous warehouse or fulfillment center experience a plus.

Experience: Experience operating an order picker lift and/or stand up reach forklift is required

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment and is exposed to temperatures that fluctuate with the seasons.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

  • Requires walking/standing primarily on a level surface throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights up to 84” below the waist or lifting (up to 50 lbs.) as required to carry products or store materials. Proper lifting techniques and adherence to safety guidelines is required
  • Sit and stand as needed, up to 10 hours a day. Reach and stoop.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting technique is required.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work overhead
  • The primary work environment requires exposure to warehouse and shipping areas where, at certain times, temperatures may fluctuate.
