Job Summary:

TreeHouse Foods is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our production team. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility by moving products and materials to and from the warehouse and production area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process production orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials to the production line.
  • Remove and replace unused materials, and move products or supplies to and from other warehouses as needed.
  • Ensure customer orders are filled correctly by accurately reading production shop order sheets and following procedures.
  • Prepare stock for shipment by securing products with stretch wrap, slip-sheets, or pallets.
  • Transport products from the production floor to trucks or warehouse using forklifts or slip-sheet lifts.
  • Load trucks by hand or with forklifts according to truck loading procedures.
  • Properly fill out load tallies according to procedures.
  • Remove trash products from ovens and production floors and move to waste dumpsters.
  • Maintain material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
  • Ensure good manufacturing procedures by following housekeeping standards and assisting in sanitation duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to be organized, multitask, and keep up with multiple fast-paced machines.
  • Mechanical ability to run equipment and use small hand tools.
  • Basic math and measuring ability.
  • Mental alertness to identify and react to machine processes, quality issues, and safety issues.
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral communication and apply common sense understanding to carry out and follow instructions and standard procedures.
  • Ability to read production orders and machine specifications.
  • Ability to use computers for data entry.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to communicate information one-on-one and in small group situations.
  • Ability to keep up with fast-paced conveyor lines.
  • Ability to drive forklifts and pass in-company forklift driver training programs.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is a 2nd shift position working Monday through Friday.
  • Mandatory overtime is required, including weekend work.
