Summary:

Receives, loads, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads production schedule, shipping order and memo, pick tickets, skid tracking sheets and Job Info customer instructions to determine items to be received, loaded, moved, gathered, or distributed. Answers warehouse door, utilizes Guest Register for all non-employees. Unloads delivery vehicles. Loads trucks and trailers following specific guidelines.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Supplies Pressroom department with paper rolls per pick ticket requests, utilizing stub rolls. Supplies Finishing department with inserts, covers, mailing supplies, empty boxes, and related materials. Supplies Pressroom and Finishing departments with stacks of skids, stacks no higher than 48” and free of dust and debris.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins. Inserts for Finishing department are to be placed in designated staging area. Mark materials with identifying information as necessary.
  • Unloads paper trucks, confirming BOL matches load. Stores new rolls in warehouse bays according to Paper Delivery schedule. Organizes paper roll storage room. Combines like paper rolls. Tapes damaged paper rolls. Prepares paper roll storage room for deliveries.
  • Works closely with Postal clerk to weigh and verify mail. This is primarily a 1st shift duty.
  • Assembles and prepares mailing equipment for Finishing department (i.e., cages, mail bags, BMCs, etc.).
  • Bands and wraps skids according to skid preparation sheet. Weighs and records poundage when necessary. Utilizing skid tag and mailing placard information, stores finished product on the skid racks in organized manner.
  • Inspects and maintains skid wrapper. Make sure settings are correct for tension and speed, keeping chain clean from plastic buildup.
  • Extracts paper bales from trim baler. Weighs and records poundage and loads into bale trailer.
  • Extracts old plates from plate baler. Weighs and records poundage and stages on racks or floor.
  • Supplies Pressroom with empty Gaylord boxes and transports full boxes into bale trailer, records weights.
  • Removes and weighs empty ink totes and replaces with full tote. Empties are to be stored neatly in warehouse for pickup. Stores empty metal & plastic fountain solution tanks in warehouse for pick up.
  • Tracks company owned plastic skids utilizing tracking sheet.
  • Performs preventive maintenance to include inspection of forklifts and clamp trucks for fluid leaks, tire wear, stress cracks, and other related maintenance needs. Reports findings to Supervisor. Maintains proper fluid levels. Refuel when necessary. Maintains vehicle cleanliness.
  • Performs general equipment maintenance. Cleans wrapper, and surrounding area frequently. Checks wrapper settings for correct tension and turntable speed.
  • Performs general warehouse maintenance. Sweeps warehouse floor, particularly in the baler area. Maintains clear pathways to doors, exits and fire extinguishers. Clears snow and ice from doorways and exits. Gathers and stacks wooden skids in designated area.
  • Maintains warehouse records.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Education and/or Experience:Less than high school education; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Ability to complete in-house forklift and clamp truck certification.
