We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to oversee our accounts payable function. As a manager of a team of ten or more accounts payable associates, you will be responsible for verifying, recording, and reconciling vendor invoices and payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to streamline processes for maximum efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the accounts payable team and ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices
Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices
Document, implement and maintain policy and procedural changes to drive continuous improvement
Supervisory responsibilities include:
Interviewing, hiring, and training
Planning, assigning, and directing work
Performance appraisals, management of reward and disciplinary processes
Communicates and coordinates accounting policy/procedural changes to key stakeholders (other corporate departments, branch locations, vendors, etc.)
Ensure accuracy of vendor master data records (initial setup, maintenance processes, etc.)
Ensure accuracy of various ancillary activity (reverse logistics, vendor rebates, refund credits, direct shipments, etc.)
Prepare and/or support various periodic, quarterly and year-end activities (cutoff management, journal entries, balance sheet analysis, preparation of audit schedules, etc.)
Job Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 8 years of experience of accounting experience
Minimum of 4 years of management experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
Experience in process improvement and implementation of best practices
Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations
Strong Excel skills
