The Challenge:
We are seeking an Fire Protection Engineer who can provide regional technical support for a potential project in the Middle East. This position is contingent upon award of contract. The FPE will be primarily remote, providing reach back capability for design and review of designs. The FPE must be forward-deployable to mission requirement in CENTCOM AOR as determined by the COR based on the needs of the customer and program
Principle areas of responsibility are:
- Responsible for developing inspection criteria, fire protection designs; performing technical reviews of fire protection designs developed by architectural-engineering firms (A-E) or government organizations and resolving electrical design related problems arising during construction and inspection by the inspection team
- Provide expertise on the Fire Protection engineering aspects of the installation; modification; operation; and maintenance of facilities, mission systems, support systems, and power generation/distribution/grounding systems
- While there is not a design element in this contract, the Fire Protection Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert to review and inspect installations to ensure code compliance for new construction that is in progress or completed
- There may be a need, from time to time, to prepare drawings, specifications, and procedures for the repair, installation, integration, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems
- Prepare and/or reviews and evaluates design calculations
Basic Qualifications:
- Employment is project-based and will take place on US Military Bases throughout the Middle East US CENTCOM AOR
- Shall meet the minimum requirements for a Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE) in accordance with UFC 3-600-01 with Change 6, dated 6 May 2021.
- At least two years of experience demonstrating the ability to apply the standards of UFC 1-200-01, UFC 1-201-02 and UFC Series 3-500
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in written and spoken Arabic
