Summary
As the Senior IT Operations Manager, with a focus on Infrastructure and End User Support, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including all hardware and software, networks, servers, and storage devices. The Senior IT Operations Manager will also be responsible for overseeing end-user support activities, ensuring that all employees receive the necessary technical assistance to perform their jobs effectively.
This position requires access to confidential and sensitive information requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management. This position will report to the Vice-President of IT.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware and software, networks, servers, and storage devices.
- Ensure that all hardware and software are up-to-date and secure, and they meet the organization's performance requirements.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure components.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures that are in line with industry best practices and meet the organization's requirements.
- Manage the organization's help desk and end-user support activities; ensure that all employees receive timely and effective technical assistance.
- Develop and implement IT training programs for end users to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
- Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software technologies that could enhance the organization's IT infrastructure and end-user support activities.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management with a focus on end user support.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
- Strong hands-on technical skills in networking, servers, storage devices, O365, MS Azure Administration, Cybersecurity, and end-user computing.
- CISCO Entry Certifications /Cisco Entry Certifications
- Hands-On experience with Trend Micro – Vision One, Deep Security, Email/Cloud App Security.
- Hands-On experience with VMWare Horizon.
- Relational and non-relational databases; functions and containers.
- Possesses expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- A high level of integrity, earning the respect and trust of his/her peer group and employees.
- Audit/Risk Management background with a focus on Technology is an asset.
- Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for justifying a project, equipment, or staffing expenditures by identifying cost, benefits, opportunities, and threats.
- Knowledge of the process for evaluation and selection of products, tools, services, and infrastructure components in line with the organization’s business needs and architectural principles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing IT policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in IT infrastructure management, such as ITIL, CompTIA, or Cisco.
- Experience in managing IT infrastructure in a regulated industry, cloud Solutions, and Hybrid environments.
- Experience Supporting Remote locations.
- Understanding of the SDLC and ITIL methodologies.
- Experience with Smartsheet.
