The Outreach Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing quality programs that result in consistent and growing participation in Girl Scout Leadership Experiences. In his/her region, the Outreach Program Coordinator is responsible for building community relationships to expand outreach efforts and increase active Girl Scouts membership for both girls and adult volunteers.


Key Responsibilities:

Program Delivery & Facilitation: Ensure the quality delivery of outreach programming to achieve Girl Scout outcomes of strong sense of self, positive values, challenge seeking, healthy relationships and community problem solving.

  • Plan, implement, and deliver Girl Scout educational and outreach programs in accordance with GSHPA and GSUSA guidelines, as well as with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the quality and consistency of program delivery across all programs.
  • Actively lead, teach, and/or assist in program delivery and support Part-Time Facilitators and volunteers to deliver programs.
  • Co-design and deliver fiscally responsible programmatic experiences that result in girls returning consistently and inviting their friends to expand the program.


Coordination of Programs: Coordinate the delivery of programs with key external partners, Part-Time Facilitators, as well as GSHPA departments, staff, and volunteers.

  • Support the onboarding, mentoring, training, and skills building of Part-Time Facilitators, volunteers and school staff supporting the program.
  • Coordinate Part-Time Facilitators’, volunteers and organization/school staff schedules, rosters, and reporting for programs in assigned region.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of current programming efforts. Evaluate programs consistently with the objective of continually revising and updating curriculum and program delivery for maximum impact.
  • Work collaboratively with the Membership team throughout all outreach programming to ensure successful migration for each participant to fully involved membership.


Community Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions and community partners to support new and existing programming opportunities for outreach activities.

  • Organize and implement quality outreach programs for girls in underserved communities.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with organizational partners to include setting clear expectations, regular communication and articulation of shared goals.
  • Travel throughout the assigned region to meet with potential partners, collaborate with diverse community groups, and represent the council in the community.


Girl and Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with girls and families resulting in regular attendance and investment from families for a sustained Girl Scouts Leadership Experience.

  • Promote Girl Scouts and outreach activities with families in the region and within identified organizations, including but not limited to awareness raising events, regular communications, and specific family activities.
  • Organize, coordinate and lead family engagement activities as part of program outreach to build stronger relationships with families for sustainability of Girl Scout leadership experience.
  • Actively engage families in outreach activities to increase participation and investment in Girl Scouts.
  • Build strong relationships with girls and their families through regular communication and interaction.

Other Duties:

  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Lead activities in a flexible, professional manner in accordance with GSHPA strategies, motivating girls to participate.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner.
Requirements:

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience developing, conducting, and/or supervising innovative youth and community programs.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified by a nationally recognized provider (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) required.
  • Strong public relations skills and ability to develop community collaborations.
  • Efficiently operate standard office equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Speak and communicate ideas and thoughts clearly in a public setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships, through polite and professional communication both in person and via phone, virtual meetings, email, and/or mail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of work while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environment.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages in a professional manner.
  • Use sound judgment and critical thinking skills when decision making.
  • Effectively identify, analyze, and solve problems.
  • Pass and maintain required background clearances.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license; access to reliable transportation required.
  • Travel throughout the council, as needed.
  • Lift/carry 30 pounds.
