  • Oversees the operations of the housing and Residence Life programs of the Landings at Terra Village (The Landings) residence hall.  This role is also responsible for student housing placement, student housing contract, and crisis response protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversees development and execution of Residence Life programming within The Landings in conjunction with the Student Engagement Coordinator.  Works closely with campus offices and participates in mandatory campus wide initiatives such as residence hall opening and closing, admissions and visit days, and staff meetings as necessary.
  • Develops professional and appropriate relationships with and be visible to residents in the building.
  • Maintains programming and student staff budgets.
  • Develops a well-rounded community within the building through Resident Assistant programming and community development activities.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Manager of Housing and Student Relations to supervise, advise, train, evaluate, and hire a Resident Assistant (RA) staff.
  • Assures security of the residence hall through key inventory, key access and management, operation of the PED system, understanding of the fire alarm systems, and security camera system.
  • Coordinates facilities requests, work orders, and implementation of building maintenance with Facilities and Plant Operations staff.
  • Coordinates housing application and housing placement processes ensuring appropriate occupancy levels.
  • Works with the Marketing department to assist in content creation for promoting the Landings to new and current students.
  • Works with the Cashier’s Office for proper reporting and billing to student accounts.
  • Creates and disseminates occupancy and operations reports as required.
  • Coordinates the Student Conduct Process for students living both on and off campus, in conjunction with the Dean of Student Success, Academic Deans, Campus Safety, faculty, and staff.
  • Serves has a hearing officer for student conduct meetings and or convene student conduct conferences as necessary.
  • Provides training for hearing officers and student conduct conference board members.
  • Assists in the annual review of the Student Code of Conduct for the College Catalog.
  • Provides statistics and data with regard to judicial referrals, sanctions and recidivism; ensure a sanctioning system of equitable, educational referrals designed to address the individuality of each referral.
  • Organizes and maintains judicial records and adhere to all actions/procedures required by policy and law.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation and work closely with TSCC Campus Safety, Counseling, Title IX, and Local Law Enforcement as needed.
  • Evening and weekend hours as necessary for the position
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Program Area Responsibilities (as applicable):
  • Supervises the Assistant Manager for Housing & Student Relations
    • Provides training & development for Resident Assistants (RA).
Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred in Counseling, Psychology, Business Management, Student Personnel, Higher Education, or other related field.
  • Prior residence life and/or housing assignments experience in the college setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work as a team player as well as collaboratively and effectively with other departments and diverse populations.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage emergency situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate the utmost ethical and professional behavior as a role model to students.
  • Highly motivated to serve others and bring positive energy to the work environment.
  • Good judgement skills along with independent and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with housing related software (Banner, Maxient, Housing Software).
  • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Starting salary of $43,000.
