Job Description
The Quality Control Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the Quality Program to ensure Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) of product manufacturing and the performance of quality-related services are consistent with established standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and product specifications. As a Quality Control Manager, you will oversee quality-related activities across multiple facilities associated with sampling and inspection of in-process and finished products, customer complaints, product investigations, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans.
Job Responsibilities and Functions
Comprehensive understanding of all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and best practices.
Implement a Quality Management System (QMS).
Report on progress against schedules, milestones, and project goals.
Evaluate project resource needs and availability, identify and report gaps or project constraints, and develop solutions for successful implementation.
Manage and implement monthly inventory audits for operations with the assistance of department personnel, reconcile discrepancies, and investigate discrepancies.
Review batch manufacturing records, logbooks, and test results and ensure good documentation practices are followed.
Reviews COAs for regulatory compliance and specification adherence.
Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products and production equipment.
Ensures Inspection of packaged orders to ensure correct content and quantities, as deemed necessary.
Maintains retained samples and customer return samples, as deemed necessary.
Manage and track stability sampling and testing per state regulation.
Discuss issues and concerns directly with line personnel and operations management so any corrections and improvements can be made in a timely manner.
Timely approval of incoming raw materials and components, batch inspection, and batch release to ensure on-time delivery of products.
Monitor quality performance across all departments. This may include, but is not limited to, the management and evaluation (trending) of product complaints, deviations, Corrective Actions, Preventive Actions (CAPAs), environmental controls, and Out of Specification (OOS) results.
Maintain and monitor compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
Manages contracts and supplier/vendor evaluation program.
Manages the internal and external audit program, focusing on continuous improvement opportunities.
Manages the CAPA program.
Qualification and Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age with a bachelor’s degree.
Three plus years of experience in a quality role facility in the cannabis or equivalent industry (e.g., cultivation and/or manufacture of consumer-packaged goods)
Successfully pass background by the state for agent badge.
Three plus years of supervisory experience in managing personnel
Must have the ability to develop and foster strong working relationships throughout all levels of the organization.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Demonstrate problem-solving skills; the ability to predict and/or identify and drive problem/issue to resolution in partnership with stakeholders.
Experience interacting with state regulatory bodies preferred.
Working knowledge or ability to develop an understanding of security and surveillance systems and methodology.
Excellent people and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to successfully explain complex matters, provide persuasive support for positions with internal stakeholders and outside partners, and communicate with all levels of the organization.
Ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload with tight deadlines.
Capable of handling confidential information discreetly and professionally.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
Experience with project management.

Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
Ability to travel as required.
Can lift 50-55lbs
Preferred Experience
Prior experience working in retail, manufacturing, or cultivation compliance.
Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety guidelines.
Prior Experience with Cannabis Seed-to-Sale Tracking Systems such as METRC, BioTrack, or others.
Worked in the cannabis industry.
Starting Wage: $70,000 per year. The starting wage is determined by several factors including experience. The Flowery offers yearly (or performance based) evaluations per the company's discretion. All Full Time employees automatically qualify for benefits, PTO & Paid Holidays after their probationary period; which is 30 days.
