Job Summary

GAI Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior EIT 1 (Protection & Controls) to lead substation-related work. This role will involve performing substation and protection and controls design, providing technical guidance and training to staff, conducting design reviews, and ensuring quality assurance and control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform QA/QC checks on technical activities, including development of drawings, design of protection and control systems, and integration with SCADA systems.
  • Design and size auxiliary systems, including AC/DC load centers, batteries, and chargers.
  • Develop project criteria, design specifications, and bill of materials.
  • Travel to other offices and meet with clients to discuss project-specific details.
  • Manage tasks on multiple projects and prioritize competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgment.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in protection and controls engineering design, with a focus on substation projects up to 500kV.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) certification.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
