Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, IT, and business teams to establish data governance roles, responsibilities, and processes.
  • Monitor and assess data quality metrics, identifying data issues, and implementing corrective actions to improve data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant legislation.
  • Lead data governance initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's data strategy and goals.
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on data governance practices and data management principles.
  • Conduct regular audits of data processes and systems to ensure adherence to data governance policies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to data governance, including data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata management.
  • Work closely with IT and data management teams to ensure proper data architecture and infrastructure support data governance efforts.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in data governance and data management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data privacy regulations.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools and software, such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data issues and develop actionable solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management, with the ability to lead data governance initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Knowledge of data architecture, metadata management, and data stewardship practices.
  • Certification in data governance or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus.
