Responsibilities:

  • Implements the vision and business plan of the Alphagraphics Portland Business Center on a day to day basis
  • Oversees and manages the overall day-to-day customer service and production operations of the business
  • Oversee and manage the customer service and production employees of the business
  • Provide daily and monthly reports to the owner as requested
  • Implements principals of lean manufacturing and workflow processes
  • Maintains strong relationships with vendors and coordinates purchasing efforts to ensure adequate paper, toner and other materials are in inventory to complete jobs on time
  • Knows and understands the capabilities of the print and bindery equipment and uses this knowledge to efficiently schedule production
  • Knows and understands the customer facing web site and order portals to support efficient order entry to Printsmith
  • Maintains relationships with trade printers and binderies and manages sublet vendors as required
  • Ability to step into any customer service, design or production roles to cover absences of regular full time employees.
  • Provides support to the sales team; serves as a liaison between sales and operations ensuring on-time delivery of products and services

 

Requirements:

  • Must be very structured and process-oriented
  • Must be comfortable in customer facing situations
  • Must have experience operating digital printers, wide format and bindery equipment
  • Must be able to implement policies and procedures
  • Must be comfortable with HR policies and documentation requirements

 

  • College degree preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products. 
  • Experience and knowledge of Printsmith, Fiery Impose/Compose/Job Flow and Pitstop Plugin to Adobe Acrobat is a plus
  • Above average in computer systems
  • Experience with direct mail and variable data projects are preferred
  • Must be able to effectively communicate internally through verbal and written communications.
  • 5-10 years print industry management experience preferred
