This is a remote position located in San Antonio.

Job Summary: The Director of Mission Advancement will lead the fundraising and development efforts to support the mission of Chosen. This role is responsible for creating and implementing strategies to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government sources. The Mission Advancement Director will work closely with the COO/VP of Business Development to achieve fundraising goals and build sustainable relationships with donors and partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising: You will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from individual donors, foundations and corporations while overseeing fundraising events, campaigns and initiatives.
  • Donor Relations: You will build and maintain relationships with donors/prospects and you will implement a donor recognition and stewardship program and ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgments and reporting.
  • Grant Writing and Management: You will research and identify grant opportunities that align with Chosen's mission and programs. You will write and submit grant proposals and reports to foundations and corporations, track grant deadlines and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Marketing and Communications: You will work with the Communications Manager to enhance Chosen's online presence. You will also oversee the creation of the annual report and other donor-related publications and collaborate with the Marketing team to develop fundraising materials and communications.
  • Data Management and Analysis: You will maintain accurate donor prospect information in the donor management system, analyze fundraising data to measure the effectiveness of development strategies and make needed adjustments and prepare regular reports on fundraising progress for Leadership. This position will also forecast philanthropic income monthly.

Mission Development Director Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising and grant writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with donors, board members and partners.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and fundraising databases.
  • Knowledge of child welfare issues and passion for Chosen's mission.
