PathPoint is welcoming part-time Employment Specialists (Job Developers) in Ventura County to join our employment team. This is a unique and rewarding sales-like position with a lucrative bonus plan that helps people with disabilities or disadvantages secure meaningful employment opportunities.

About PathPoint: We are a non-profit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and young adults in living the life they choose. Through strengthening workplace abilities, developing essential life skills, and fostering meaningful relationships, we serve communities in Kern, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.

Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour plus placement bonuses The pay range for this position is $19.00-29.58 an hour (subject to change based on a variety of factors). In addition to base pay, Employment Specialists earn bonuses. There are no caps on earning bonuses, and the amount earned in bonuses will depend on performance.

As an Employment Specialist your work begins with promoting our organization and advocating for individuals with disabilities in the job market. Your role includes generating leads tailored to client's diverse skills and interests, ensuring inclusive employment opportunities. By offering pre-employment counseling, you will assist with resumes, cover letters, and job applications. Through networking with local employers, you will arrange interviews and provide support to facilitate a smooth transition into the workforce. Collaborating with program staff, you will ensure job matches meet individual needs, providing interventions when necessary. Employment Specialists maintain positive relationships with both clients and employers, fostering long-term collaborations. Your efforts will bridge the gap between individuals with disabilities and employment, enriching lives, and promoting inclusivity.

What We're Looking For:

  • One year of job coaching, job development, mental health services, or related human services field is highly desired.
  • Education in social work, psychology, vocational rehabilitation, or related fields or prior experience in sales is a plus
  • Ability to adapt approaches and strategies to motivate and support job seekers.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, priorities-focused, and results-driven.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation for regular travel in the Ventura area.
