Department: Maintenance Job Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor

Positions Supervised: None Amount of Travel Required: Frequent

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; overtime and after hours work may be required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Light carpentry work, electrical, painting, general repairs and odd jobs such as: hanging shelving, installing mini blinds, moving furniture, changing light bulbs or ballasts, etc.
  • Basic plumbing, including unclogging toilets and drains, replacing fixtures, or repairing leaks.
  • Grounds maintenance including lawn care, landscaping, trash pickup, snow removal, pond upkeep, and maintaining parking lots.
  • Floor maintenance including stripping and resurfacing tile flooring and carpet cleaning. Occasional replacement of flooring may also be needed.
  • Monitor heating and air conditioning systems. Maintain systems as may be needed.
  • Assist Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator in ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies and reviewing janitorial work or other contracted maintenance services.
  • Other facility and maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Kansas Driver’s license and insurance required.
  • Must successfully pass the KBI, DCF Central Registry and all background investigations.

Experience:

  • General understanding of HVAC is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Must have a general understanding of maintenance and upkeep of facilities and grounds
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
