Job Title: RN Cardiovascular ICU

Location: Plano, Texas

Work Schedule:

  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Days Per Week: 3
  • Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Start Time: 07:00 PM
  • Shift End Time: 07:00 AM

Available Shifts:

  • Nights: 12-hour shifts, full-time
  • Shift Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours total)

Compensation:

  • Minimum Rate Per Hour: $32
  • Maximum Rate Per Hour: $53


Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, from STEMI to LVAD implantation, and will work with advanced technologies and devices. This is a full-time night shift position with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in the CVICU, ensuring focused and personalized care. Patient Population and Unit Highlights:


  • Patient Population: Cardiovascular conditions including STEMI, LVAD implantation, cardiogenic shock, AAA, CABG, valve surgeries, TEVR, and more. Use of devices such as TPW, IABO, Impella, TTM, lumbar drains, and CRRT.
  • Patient Ratios:
  • Telemetry: 1:4
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU): 1:3
  • ICU: 1:2
  • CVICU: 1:1
  • Number of Beds: 25 beds in the unit


Essential Functions:


  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort and providing professional, compassionate care.
  • Educate patients, families, and community members on health management, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community resources to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Utilize problem-solving and critical thinking skills to deliver effective and safe patient care.
  • Foster a positive work environment by contributing to team goals, supporting peers, and engaging in community service.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
  • Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.:
  • Minimum of 1 year (preferably 2+ years) of recent, full-time experience in Cardiovascular Progressive Care and/or CVICU.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, disease prevention, health management, and the use of common medications and their side effects.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and information security.
