Job Description:

Metas Solutions has an "immediate opening" for an experienced Mid-Level to Senior Public Health Project Manager to work Remotely. Candidates for this role will be expected to provide Project Management support for the CDC Data Element Standardization activities to advance Case Surveillance Modernization. This role will apply project management concepts and skills to coordinate the execution of the numerous, tightly integrated activities among multiple workstreams required to support the standardization of surveillance data elements. The Project Manager Manages a staggered work plan to support concurrent work on overlapping complex concepts on an aggressive timeline, review processes and documents, identify and document gaps, schedule activities, address obstacles, coordinates among workstreams, and review findings with leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis using data for disease counts and rates by stratifications such as demographic characteristics and geographic areas.
  • Develop requirements for data quality and analytics dashboards.
  • Develop Power BI and Databricks dashboards using data.
  • Test and validate dashboards.
  • Develop user guides and other documentations for dashboards.
  • Collect and document information to ensure the project aligns with the organization's strategic goals and Case Surveillance Modernization initiatives.
  • Gather program or project requirements for DHIS staff and CDC program partners (as needed) to meet identified case surveillance modernization project needs.
  • In collaboration with modernization program staff and identified CDC programs and partners, check processes for gaps, develop or revise project workflows, and gather requirements for processes, roadmaps, and a strategic plan, including inputs and outputs.
  • Document, track, and report on tasks that support the program's strategic goals and program initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor modernization project schedules in the planning, operations, maintenance, and close-out phases (e.g., draft and update schedule, document barriers, challenges, and action items, track timelines and task dependencies within and across projects, and identify and document resource gaps).
  • Attend meetings, display status boards, worksheets, and spreadsheets, and capture input as indicated. Document and track timelines and task dependencies within and across projects; identify and document resource gaps.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) with 5+ years of experience with increasing Project Management roles
  • PMP certification desired or other PM-related certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with Project Management or Project Coordination, preferably in a public health domain.
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, and/or R
  • Experience with disease surveillance data (familiarity with NNDSS is a plus)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience preferably within a federal agency, public health organization, or state-based public health program.
  • Proven ability to effectively coordinate and execute multiple integrated workstream activities.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating the work of teams at multiple locations.
  • Effective use of project management and team communication tools
  • Experience with data analysis and customer support skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, calculations, custom formulas, VLOOKUP), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft toolset, including Microsoft Project and similar project management scheduling tools.
  • Proficiency in maintaining attendance and distribution lists and using Microsoft Dynamics CRM tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and other collaboration tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Strong and effective communicator, able to express information effectively to individuals or groups while considering the audience and nature of the information.
  • Ability to make clear and convincing oral presentations, listen to others, attend to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately.
