**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to join our team. As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage public sector construction projects, including office buildings, parks and recreation facilities, City Hall, firehouses, police stations, public safety projects, infrastructure upgrades, and local government projects.
- Interface with clients and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project finances, including invoicing clients and monitoring project financial status.
- Develop and implement project plans, including producing detailed project plans.
- Apply performance management techniques to ensure project success.
- Manage change control processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Communicate project information to stakeholders through regular meetings and written reports.
- Prepare project budget progress reports and other relevant documents.
- Maintain project files and ensure they are shared with the project team.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop proposals for new work or variations to existing projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve project management procedures and processes.
- Ensure awareness of quality, safety, health, and environment issues.
- Establish effective project governance, processes, and systems.
**Requirements**
- 10+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on public sector projects.
- Experience working on large new ground-up construction projects in public sector buildings.
- Ability to advise at a strategic level and provide guidance on project approaches.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver projects to the right quality standards, on time, and within budget.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience working as an effective team member and leader.
- Ability to share and retain key information and data.
- Excellent leadership skills to guide and advise a team of project managers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
**Education and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in design and construction project management, with a focus on public sector projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- CCM, PMP, or other design or construction certification is a plus.
- Experience managing demanding stakeholders and work stream managers.
- Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and plan documents.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
