What You will Do:

Second of three levels of Assemblers. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Assembler performs various assigned duties of a somewhat diversified nature.


Requirements:

You will wear many hats, but a day in this role generally includes:

  • Practice all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and drawings to produce fixtures and solid surfaces within tolerances and specifications.
  • Plan an effective approach to work to ensure that each project is completed on time.
  • Assemble fixtures and cabinetry with glue/clamps, dowels, screws, etc.
  • Operate drill, table saw, chop saw, router, sanding equipment, stapler, case clamp and other power and hand tools.
  • Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed.
  • Lay-up sheets of laminate. Post-laminate surfaces, as necessary.
  • Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units.
  • Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools.
  • Attend departmental meetings as required.
  • Solve problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability You will Need:

  1. Able to read fixture drawings.
  2. Proficient with drill, table saw, chop saw, router, sanding equipment, stapler and other power and hand tools.

  4. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  5. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  6. Good arithmetic skills.
  7. Attention to detail.
  8. Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship.
  9. Ability to read.
  10. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
