The Workplace Design Manager will oversee a team of talented designers, ensuring that their work is not only creative and innovative but also strategically aligned with our sales goals. This role requires a leader who is both a visionary in design and a strategic thinker, capable of translating creative concepts into actionable plans that support our business objectives. You will also collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to drive design initiatives and create a cohesive brand experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within workplace design, interior design, or architecture
  • Strong ability to create office layouts that customers love
  • Ability to balance creativity with strategic thinking, aligning design work with business goals.
  • Ability to remain focused on multiple projects at one time with competing timelines.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas effectively.
  • Familiarity with issues of compliance for state and federal regulations, such as ADA and IBC codes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in office space planning and office furniture specification in a dealership environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Relevant certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
  • Extensive experience with modular furniture design, specification and installation plans.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific design software (Configura CET, AutoCAD, Revit layouts, etc.).

What You’ll Do

  • Design best in class 2D and 3D office space plans, including furniture layouts, traffic flow, and material finishes.
  • Review and approve design proposals, ensuring they meet both aesthetic standards and client requirements.
  • Oversee the design process, from initial concept development to final execution, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Develop and implement design strategies that support sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide creative direction and guidance to the team, encouraging innovative and sustainable design solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of workplace designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations ensuring all team members have what they need to excel within their role.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in workplace design and integrate these insights into the team’s work.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the design process, seeking ways to enhance creativity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop design strategies that attract and convert potential clients.
  • Ensure design projects are aligned with the company’s sales initiatives and goals.
