Wheelcare Express Inc. is a leading non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) company that has been serving Northern California for over 40 years. We provide essential transportation services for clients to medical appointments and other engagements, with many of our clients requiring wheelchair or gurney transport.
*Job Overview:*
We are seeking compassionate, friendly, and reliable full-time and part-time drivers to join our team. If you enjoy helping people and prefer a job that keeps you on the move, we want to hear from you We offer flexible scheduling, including opportunities for those looking to work one or two days a week.
*Responsibilities:*
- Safely transport patients to various locations in medical transport vehicles.
- Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations.
- Conduct pre-shift vehicle inspections (checking fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes, and steering).
- Report and document accidents, vehicle damage, client incidents, and mechanical failures.
- Complete trip documentation via phone applications.
- Maintain the cleanliness and fuel levels of assigned vehicles.
- Operate wheelchair and gurney lifts.
- Communicate effectively with Dispatch.
- Follow safety and COVID-19 protocols.
- Instruct clients on safe riding rules and regulations.
*Qualifications:*
- Valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Must be at least 23 years old.
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to pass First Aid and CPR training courses.
- Positive attitude, good communication skills, and empathetic demeanor.
- Previous NEMT driver experience is a plus, but not required (training provided).
