Job DescriptionThe Forming Shift Supervisor will supervise hourly employees in the continuous operation of the plant's production activities with a focus on safety, quality, continuous process improvements, and production efficiencies.
The Forming Shift Supervisor will:
- Ensure a safe working environment for employees and promote a strong safety culture
- Troubleshoot and assist employees operating forming machines
- Monitor job change progress and assist in quality decisions
- Input key shift performance indicators into production databases
- Audit for process control and enforce standardized work for the entire facility
- Ensure that employees are trained and are knowledgeable of department procedures
The Forming Shift Supervisor should have:
- Must have forming experience
- Strong background with scheduling (people, operations, preventative maintenance)
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and lead hourly employees
- Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing facility
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- At least 1 year of experience supervising people and leading processes in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising a unionized workforce
- Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly in Excel, and using payroll software
- Must be able to work 12 hour night shifts
Additional Information
What we offer at O-I:
Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $93,000 and $112,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
