Who We Are:

The Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian (VEHM) is a busy, privately-owned, 24/7 small Animal ER that has opened a secondary location, Veterinary Emergency Hospital Arlington Urgent Care. We pride ourselves in offering a high level of efficient, progressive, and compassionate patient care with exemplary customer service. We currently have a full staff of doctors and support staff and are eager to expand our organization


Who We Are Looking For:

We seek to find highly skilled and motivated customer service representatives. They are the first point of contact for our clients and their pets during emergency situations. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our clients and their pets receive the care they need in a timely and efficient manner. Our CSRs collaborate closely with our team, patients, and clients with the goal of providing compassionate care in a crisis. CSRs fill an essential role providing exceptional client service and patient care while keeping the team organized. They are responsible for checking in/out clients, payment processing, answering the phones, triaging, maintaining medical records and financial information, as well as keeping the exam rooms and lobby clean and stocked with snacks and beverages.

Job Description:

Greeting clients and their pets

Assisting clients to check-in online, via kiosk, or on paper

Answering the phones and providing updates, transferring calls, taking messages, and providing directions to the clinic or online check-in

Provide payment education and processing with cash, merchant services, payment link, Care Credit, and Scratch Pay

Keeping a clean work environment at the counter, lobby area, and exam rooms

Stocking refreshments and snacks

Updating clients and helping keep intake board updated with client/patient location and intake

Assist with triage and communicating client or pet concerns

Aid in processing pet remains

Sending medical records


WORK REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work in awkward positions that include reaching, bending, sitting, standing, and walking for an extended period of time. Required to lift up to forty (40) pounds. Employees will be expected to request assistance with lifting or carrying animals or materials over 40 pounds.

  • Radiation exposure
  • Possible exposure to gas sterilization using ethylene oxide
  • Exposure to hazardous associated with infected animals and contagious diseases
  • Exposure to hazardous medications, controlled substances, and disinfectants
  • Exposures to unpleasant odors and noises
  • Exposure to aggressive patients, bites, scratches, and animal bodily fluids



Requirements:

Job requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 1 year previous experience in a veterinary hospital or industry

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to multitask and enjoy work in a fast-paced environment

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accountability

- Ability to remain calm and compassionate during critical situations

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Prior experience with EzyVet and/or VetRadar ideal, but not required.
