The Human Resource Manager (HRM) is a strategic business partner, as well as, performs tactical activities. The HRM has responsibility for providing advice and counsel to managers on organizational matters including performance assessment, corrective actions, dispute resolution, compensation and classification, recruitment and retention and organizational structure and staffing. Additionally, is responsible for recruitment, benefits and leave of absence management, workers compensation, record keeping, compliance auditing, HR metrics reporting, and special projects. The HRM provides advice and counsel to management on all matters related to employees, develops strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues and recommends, changes/improvements to the practices of the company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The following essential functions are the critical duties an employee must be able to perform either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.


1. Assess and implement company policies and practices to ensure internal parity and local, state, and federal compliance; explain and apply applicable policies, procedures, laws, codes and regulations

2. Manage the administration of the annual performance management and merit increase program and provide guidance to company leadership on matters of internal pay equity. Conducts wage and benefits surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.

3. Analyze, evaluate and make recommendations for training programs/activities that will enhance organizational excellence including, but not limited to, onboarding, conducting exit interviews, investigating and recommending on-line and internal skills developmental resources

4. Use internal and external staffing data to identify improvement opportunities in for extending the employment lifecycle

5. Manage all recruitment efforts as well as the job posting system to ensure relationships are established and managed with temp agencies to assure that company management are able to maintain an adequate workforce

6. Administer health & welfare, retirement, and workers compensation programs in collaboration with broker and third-party administrators.

7. Communicate policy/benefit changes to the workforce; provide interpretation as needed

8. Reviews existing processes and focuses on improvement of tools and standardization, as well as increasing the overall efficiency of the HR function.

9. Manages HRIS (Paylocity) data processing, including updating information in the HRIS and administering various employee changes. Supports payroll processing.

10. Handles and advises on employee relations issues including conflict resolution, harassment and discrimination, employee investigations and disputes, attendance and compensation issues.

11. Administers various programs including service awards, attendance programs, employee referral bonuses and other recognition programs. Reviews and recommend changes for standardization and improvement.




Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent education and experience. At least 5 years in HR Generalist or Management experience required. PHR/SPHR/GPHR Certification a plus.


Skills and competencies: Current knowledge of applicable governmental regulations and legislation. Human resource principles, practices and programs. Experienced in interfacing with senior business and functional managers. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Word) and HRIS. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of human resources functions. Be process oriented, highly accurate and attentive to detail. Have experience working with Benefits Administration & Leave Management (WC and FMLA/STD). Strong organization and time management/project management skills necessary to prioritize and manage multiple, projects, potentially with conflicting priorities. Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Excellent communication skills to is able to adapt style with diverse groups of employees. Demonstrated skills in employee relations with good analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making.
