Dietary Manager

Trellis Supportive Care is seeking an energetic and compassionate Dietary Manager for the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home to supervise kitchen operations and prepare quality foods and special diet items according to specific recipes, meal cycle guidelines and patient requests. The Dietary Manager will maintain the overall function of the kitchen including maintaining regulatory compliance, meeting with our Registered Dietician and upholding a high level of sanitation standards.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Flexibility required to maintain operations.

Ideal candidate qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of college or five (5) years of commercial food production or equivalent combination
  • Health Care and previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Proficient knowledge of county and/or state regulations relating to food handling, sanitation, infection control and safety protocols
  • Proficient knowledge of specialty dietary guidelines in a healthcare environment

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote cost effective practices regarding food supplies, purchases and equipment
  • Place food orders with contracted vendors and purchase food items as needed
  • Keep food and supplies organized and maintained as needed
  • Consult with dietitian regarding menus and menu development
  • Maintain compliance with county/state regulations relating to food handling and sanitation
  • Maintain food production records in accordance with agency, state, federal and accreditation guidelines
  • Maintain refrigerator temperature logs and communication logs
  • Commitment to leadership of the dietary team by empowering and working with staff to accomplish department and agency goals
  • Supports Trellis Supportive Care's culture by building and maintaining trusting relationships with all team members
  • Communicates with staff members, families and patients in a respectful, professional and courteous manner
  • Participates in hiring qualified staff and trains, mentors and provides guidance and direction to staff in order to support department and agency goals
