The Clinical Supervisor oversees the clinical partnership for LAYC to provide Mental Health treatment, prevention, and early intervention services at up to 6 schools in the District of Columbia. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that the quality of treatment services meets DBH and LAYC standards.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides weekly direct supervision for 6 School Based Clinicians/support workers through individual and group sessions. Oversees course of treatment on all enrolled youth by providing guidance, feedback, ideas and directives regarding clinical interventions and case management, and directs involvement in case conferences, court hearings, leading trainings, case presentations, support groups, etc. Maintains clinical supervision log.
  • Establishes and monitors staff performance and development goal, assigns accountabilities, sets objectives, establishes priorities, conducts annual performance appraisals.
  • Facilitates and maintains productive partnerships with School partners by engaging Behavioral Health Coordinators, Principals, and other school staff to support clinicians in identifying needs, developing work plans, strengthening workflows, and guiding prevention, early intervention, and treatment activities at that school.
  • Assists staff in the provision of crisis interventions and is available in case of emergencies during non-business hours.
  • Oversees documentation by reviewing and approving documents including diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, encounter notes, court reports, case transfers and discharge summaries.
  • Provides direct prevention, group and/or individual services to School clients and their families according to program needs.
  • Collaborates with Social Services leadership to develop and review behavioral health clinical quality improvement, including shaping policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field.
  • Active DC Independent Clinical Social Work License (LICSW).
  • Experience with substance use disorders treatment a plus.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in providing/supervising clinical services to adolescents/young adults.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in staff supervision.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching experience.
  • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of InSync, and FAS Outcomes databases a plus.
  • Knowledge of community and local resources.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings for school events.
  • Complete criminal and child abuse/neglect clearances.
  • Flexible, energetic, positive individual with commitment to youth development in a high quality, respectful environment.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with culturally diverse populations.
  • LAYC/MMYC requires the COVID-19 vaccine of all its employees. You will be asked to provide proof of vaccination at the time of your interview and at your onboarding.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The workplace is fast paced.
  • Travel will be required including to the various LAYC sites and schools in the DMV area.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 10 lbs. May require the ability to travel locally and/or regionally.
