JOB SUMMARY

The Software Architect will design, develop and maintain mission-critical software in support of a missile defense system onsite at a secure facility in Colorado Springs. Develops and maintains complex engineering computer programs, and performs coding, testing, installing, and maintaining of engineering computer programs having features including multiplicity of function, critical constraints, and elaborate input/output.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Modeling
  • Review current code into Cameo modeling (any modeling background)
  • Specify within the code what is being exposed
  • Move to more current version of Java and containerizing
  • Perform software development using Java, C++
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
  • Debug existing software and correct defects
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
  • Write or review software and system documentation
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  • Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project
  • Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge in Java, C++
  • Cameo, software modeling
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Ability to support infrastructure, platform, and application systems to develop, deploy and operate software systems
  • Addresses complex development and software engineering problems in areas such as systems integration, compatibility, and hybrid and multi-cloud environments
  • Wide breadth of expertise in development languages, tools and environments in the design and development of software-centric solutions
  • Experience with agile software development process IAW USG defined requirements
  • Proactive, persistent and diligent in closing actions and coordinating with others
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Excellent organization and planning

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Minimum Active Secret Security Clearance required – Top Secret is preferred

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree Required
