ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Software Solutions Architect is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of critical software systems that support advanced defense technologies. This position involves creating and sustaining intricate engineering software applications, as well as executing coding, testing, installation, and ongoing maintenance of these applications, which feature a variety of functions, stringent constraints, and complex input/output mechanisms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct software modeling activities.
  • Evaluate existing code and transition it into Cameo modeling.
  • Clearly define exposed functionalities within the code.
  • Upgrade to the latest Java versions and implement containerization.
  • Engage in software development utilizing Java and C++.
  • Assess user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
  • Identify and rectify defects in existing software.
  • Propose enhancements for documentation and software development process standards.
  • Design and implement new software or enhance existing software to introduce new functionalities.
  • Integrate current software into newly modified systems or operating environments.
  • Create simple data queries for existing or proposed databases.
  • Draft or review software and system documentation.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance metrics, collaborating with users or system engineers, and investigating problem areas.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or enhance performance.
  • Design, develop, and adjust software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes and consequences.
  • Implement recommendations for enhancing documentation and software development standards.
  • Oversee one or more software development teams, ensuring compliance with the software development process for each project.
  • Coordinate software system installations and monitor equipment performance to meet operational specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and C++.
  • Experience with Cameo and software modeling.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to support infrastructure, platform, and application systems for software development, deployment, and operation.
  • Expertise in addressing complex software engineering challenges in areas like systems integration and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Broad knowledge of development languages, tools, and environments for software-centric solutions.
  • Experience with agile software development processes aligned with defined requirements.
  • Proactive and diligent in closing actions and collaborating with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Minimum Active Secret Security Clearance required; Top Secret preferred.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree required.
