Job Description

We are looking for a mechanically-inclined, team player to work as a Mechanical Assembler in our Exton, PA facility.  The Mechanical Assembler assembles machines, equipment, and their subassemblies by following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.  As this is a small shop, the Assembler will have the opportunity to cross train and learn other areas of the shop, including shipping and receiving and quality inspection. 

Main duties include the following:

  • Assembles machines and sub-assemblies
  • Reads blueprints and interprets specifications and engineering instructions.
  • Identifies and reports any faulty components or hazardous conditions during the assembly process and ensure all work performed meets or exceeds quality specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues with machines and parts.
  • Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
  • Assist in running interconnect wiring on machines
  • Drills, taps, or reams holes and installs moving parts, such as shafts, pulleys, and bearings.
  • Aligns components using a laser and straight edge
  • Welding, cutting, grinding, fabricating & machining parts as needed.
  • Use hand and power tools, hoists, cranes and forklifts
  • Builds crates to ship machines and parts
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers & other measuring & testing instruments.
  • Provides documentation of tests on machines, assemblies and parts.
  • Support the Lab and Service group.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a High School diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience in a similar position.  In addition:

  • Must be willing to cross-train to assist in other areas as needed.
  • Must have previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Must have previous experience performing similar assembly on industrial machinery.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail
