General Description
Under the direction of the Assistant Plant Manager, the Senior Process Engineer directs the activities of the Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of manufacturing and industrial engineer team
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and documentation for manufacturing of new equipment by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
- Analyze and implement advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Direct scheduling of physical part creation to coordinate current shop loading and work cell availability.
- Work with engineering product development teams on design for manufacturability and testability.
- Oversee generation of shop drawings from product released drawings (cut lists/BOMs) for metal fabricators to work from.
- Direct the preparation of process failure modes and effects documents.
- Develop processes for new production introductions into the manufacturing environment.
- Organize and lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with all housekeeping procedures, and all quality and safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supporting BCT's culture and Core Values.

- Must have extensive knowledge of manufacturing and metal fabrication processes, including waterjet and laser cutting, break press bending, and standard structural metalworking techniques.
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical design tools is required.
- Knowledge of six sigma methodology is preferred.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data are required.
- Strong decision making, problem solving and organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work jointly across departments is required.
