Senior Network Engineer


Optomi, in partnership with a leading manufacturer in the automotive sector, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer. The right Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure. The right Senior Network Engineer will have at least 7-10 years of experience with Cisco network design, implementation, and management.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Designing and deploying network solutions, including hardware, software, and configuration changes.
  • Working closely with network engineers and technicians to ensure seamless deployment and maintenance of network components.
  • Monitoring and assessing network capacity requirements to ensure that the network can handle increased traffic and integrate new technologies as needed.
  • Implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
  • Developing, enforcing, and regularly updating security policies and procedures to protect network assets.
  • Continuously monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to maximize network efficiency and reliability.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configuration files, and inventory lists, to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align network infrastructure with business objectives and contribute to strategic planning and execution.


Experience of the right candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of proven experience in Cisco network design, implementation, and management.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Network access and Zscaler (ZIA and/or ZPA) is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices. Proficiency with Cisco network hardware, including routers, switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies.
  • A proactive, results-oriented approach with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
