Summary:

The person in this position will create and nurture a customer-focused culture while leading and overseeing the development and growth of profitable business in the residential/consumer lending department. This person will direct and manage residential/consumer lending activities aligned with Bank’s strategic plan, culture, and core values and act as a residential/consumer loan visionary and strategist for the senior management team. Responsibilities will also include working with Department Managers in Deposits, Commercial Lending, Operations, and Trust to manage the customer experience in a cohesive manner. This person will report to the President and CEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participation as a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • Maintain a strategic focus (short and long term) on residential/consumer loan products and delivery channels.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure departmental loan goals are met while assuring production meets quality standards and compliance guidelines.
  • Develop and implement residential/consumer lending policies and procedures in compliance with established regulatory guidelines.
  • Make recommendations to ALCO and senior management regarding loan pricing.
  • Actively manage the Secondary Market pipeline to ensure timely selling of loans to maximize income.
  • Approve residential and consumer loans in accordance with federal and state regulations and established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure strategic loan and deposit objectives are well understood and executed by residential/consumer lending personnel.
  • Monitor and report on residential/consumer activities and results.
  • Conduct or commission market research and analysis to understand implications and identify new business development opportunities in line with the Bank's strategy.
  • Impact profitability by making informed decisions utilizing competitor and market analysis to produce positive results.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant departments to develop detailed product specifications and go-to-market strategy
  • Ensure efficient and effective marketing, advertising, and promotional planning through the Marketing Department.
  • Present a budget for executive management’s approval and prudently manage resources within those budgetary guidelines.
  • Participate as a member of the Watch Loan Committee in regard to the acquisition, ownership, and disposition of residential/consumer assets acquired through loan default or foreclosure.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the Bank’s vision and overall Strategic Plan
  • Maintain and develop organizational culture, values, and reputation in all markets and with all staff, customers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Be a visible and involved member of the community representing the Bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, etc. as approved by supervisor.
  • Participate and make recommendations on various bank wide committees.
  • Make qualified referrals to appropriate departments.
  • Perform other similar duties inherent with the position or as directed by the President.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' relevant experience in Residential Lending
  • Proven people leadership skills
  • Experience with budgeting and strategic planning
  • Able to travel without restriction throughout Franklin and Hampshire counties
