Join SMRT's Site Design group at SMRT is an active participant in the design of our projects long before the shovel meets the ground. Our team includes civil engineers and landscape architects who through the integrated design process with experts across architecture, structural, electrical, site, and interiors to shape innovative solutions throughout design and construction to advance the client’s vision. What our Civil Designer/Drafters Do:

  • Assist with the design and production of site plans, illustrative sketches, renderings, and construction details for a variety of project types.
  • Coordinate and communicate project workloads daily among site designers, landscape architects and civil engineers.
  • Coordinate work with other in-house disciplines as applicable.
  • Ensure quality and efficient production of contract documents.
  • Copy, adapt, and originate drawings; participate in organizing documents; and research specifications and materials.
  • Perform calculations.
  • Visit project sites as needed.
  • Work under intermittent supervision.

Skills you need to be successful in this role:

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other project software.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign preferred.
