Job DescriptionJob Description

Description:  VLMK is seeking a Structural Engineering Technician/Drafter who has experience creating construction documents, including Revit models, for building structures.  (Salary range: 23.50/hr to 36.00/hr depending on experience and proficiency).  Must have 3 years structural drafting experience to apply for the Phoenix location. This is an in-office position.

As an Engineering Technician/Drafter at VLMK you will:

  • Work with a close-knit team where your contribution will be highly valued. 
  • Collaborate with our Engineers to prepare plan documents for a wide range of project types including concrete, steel, wood, and masonry structures.
  • Prepare initial plan layouts and assembly standard details with limited direction.
  • Be part of a team that does food cart Fridays, ski trips, chili cook-offs, running groups, golf tournaments, and more, and appreciates your participation.

MUST have:

  • Strong computer skills and understanding of drawing production. 
  • Proficiency with AutoCad and Revit, and knowledge of the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry.
  • Ability to prioritize and successfully complete multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to learn and retain information efficiently.
  • Desire to learn new things and be a productive team member.
  • Be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with other 3D modeling and rendering applications.
  • Knowledge of building structures or related construction experience.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree.
