Job Overview:
The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, and supervising construction projects. The role involves managing project teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This position requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of construction processes, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

MUST be willing to travel within the state of Texas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project specifications are met.
    • Lead project kickoff meetings and establish clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations for the project team.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring all expenditures are within approved limits.
    • Approve purchase orders, contracts, and change orders.
    • Optimize resource allocation and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision:
    • Lead, mentor, and supervise project teams, including project managers, engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.
    • Foster a collaborative work environment and resolve conflicts among team members.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress and address issues.
  • Quality Control and Compliance:
    • Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being done to specifications and quality standards.
    • Manage risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress.
    • Address client concerns promptly and adjust project plans as needed.
    • Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Resolve on-site issues and unforeseen challenges promptly.
    • Make critical decisions to keep the project on track regarding schedule, budget, and scope.
  • Project Closeout:
    • Oversee the completion of the project, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
    • Manage final inspections, project handover, and closeout documentation.
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, or a related field a plus
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project management.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Work Environment:
  • The role involves both office work and frequent site visits, with occasional travel depending on project locations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle the physical demands of construction site visits.
