The Project Manager Construction is to provide leadership and management for the successful outcomes of all self-performed projects completed by the in-house construction group. Will also provide support to the Director of Construction for all Midland Health system strategic projects.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Planning, implementing and managing the technical, administrative and financial aspects of assigned internal projects and/or functional areas of the department.
  • Work with the Director of Construction and project requestors to develop project scope based on organizational needs consistent with standards and objectives of Midland Health.
  • Work with the Director of Construction to determine the desired project team and develop those requirements into request for proposals for design, consultant, and contractor services.
  • Organize and schedule preconstruction meetings to meet MMH Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate with other internal service groups to outline their project responsibilities to meet project schedule.
  • Oversee the Project Engineer as they coordinate with external vendors to procure services and products as defined by the project scope to meet project schedule.
  • Conduct and/or participate in construction/renovation project negotiations before final contracting with other Midland Health project team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop final project budgets for the Director of Construction approval. Present final budgets for capital review and approval. Complete continuous updates of all budgets for future leadership status updates. Audit against Materials Management and Finance.
  • Review, approve/respond to submittals and RFI’s generated by the Project Engineer. Involve Architect, Engineer, and/or Director of Construction as needed.
  • Develop and update the project specific detailed schedules that indicate all planning, design, preconstruction, construction, move in, and closeout procedures. Organize, schedule, and lead design, preconstruction, and construction meetings throughout the project.
  • Provide monthly update report to the Director of Construction with budget, schedule, quality, safety, and field reports.
  • Conduct periodic jobsite visits to review quality, safety and contractual responsibilities are being met. Identify and track any items needing corrections.
  • Oversee project closeout task complete by the Project Engineer.
  • Participate in the development and implementations of operational policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the positive human resource leadership and management of employees, including annual evaluations.
  • Identify and organize continual development training events for the construction crew. Maintain OSHA 30 for all crew members

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, construction management, or engineering with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years construction experience plus some college may be accepted in place of the bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in $500,000 dollar plus healthcare projects.
  • Experience in handling multiple large projects concurrently
