Position Summary:

ISI Professional Services is seeking a Junior Data Analyst in support of a Federal Agency to support long-range strategic planning and operational implementation. The Junior Data Analyst will participate in all aspects of the data management lifecycle, which includes sourcing, cleansing, generation, and data visualization. Key responsibilities will be supporting project implementation in addition to maintenance and support activities related to enterprise planning and reporting. The Junior Data Analyst will also provide insights beyond the data management lifecycle by working with internal stakeholders to turn reports into actionable data.

The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics with technical focus using data visualization tools to identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. This individual should be committed to transforming data into readable reports for continued innovation and growth.

Essential Job Functions

  1. A minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting data analytics and project planning/reporting, preferably within the architecture/engineering/construction industry. 5 years’ experience is preferred.
  2. Develop and maintain databases and data management systems to organize and store project-related data, providing technical data management expertise and guidance.
  3. Gather and compile project data from various sources including project management systems, financial databases, and field reports.
  4. Monitor data accuracy and integrity by conducting regular data audits and validation checks.
  5. Support integration and automation of financial, project management, and administrative systems.
  6. Provide expertise on the development and implementation of performance metrics and data-driven strategies to improve project performance and outcomes.
  7. Participate in cross-functional teams using data modeling and analysis techniques to interpret complex data sets and discover actionable insights that will guide strategic decisions and process improvement.
  8. Create detailed reports, dashboards, and visualizations for presenting/briefing data analysis results and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  9. Work with key business stakeholders to define and document system requirements to support data and reporting needs.
  10. Ensure compliance with federal regulations, standards, and guidelines related to data management and reporting.

Required:

  1. High to expert-level proficiency in MS Office Suite required, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint, and OneNote. Compile data to produce information and interpret results through conclusion or recommendation formulation. Develop reports, special documents or publications as assigned.
  2. Strong knowledge of and experience with data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker, R, Spark, Tableau, etc.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data findings to non-technical audiences.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets to understand and drive resolution of project issues supporting a cross-functional team.
  5. Experience establishing and maintaining extract, transform, load (ETL) processes using common programming languages such as SQL, QlikScript, or Python.
  6. Experience working in a Construction, Telecom or a Utility Services company is a plus.
  7. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in data science, mathematics, computer science, information management, statistics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  1. CompTIA Data+, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, PMI-ACP, PMP, or comparable professional certifications preferred.
