U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance are prerequisites for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee alerts and probe potential cybersecurity incidents
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of security events
  • Analyze and characterize network traffic patterns
  • Employ SIEM and EDR tools for effective monitoring
  • Create and document configuration standards and procedures
  • Provide insights on risks and strategies for mitigation
  • Compile reports on security-related issues
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Effectively communicate with management and peers
  • Plan and execute projects and initiatives
  • Enhance systems for optimal performance and security
  • Establish processes and procedures, including documentation of work

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems security engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in SOC or cybersecurity roles
  • 3+ years of experience in data querying and manipulation
  • Possession of Security+ CE or equivalent 8570 IAT level II certification
  • Familiarity with Splunk Enterprise Security
  • Understanding of cybersecurity incidents and anomaly detection
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP protocols, and network security principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Splunk administration
  • Knowledge of cloud security and IT best practices
  • Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience in scripting or coding
  • Familiarity with Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel

Education and Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; 10 years with an MS/MA; 7 years with a Ph.D. or 16 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Core Work Schedule: Second Shift (Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM ET - 11:30 PM ET)

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000
