OVERVIEW: Founded in 1979 in direct response to rising rates of hunger and homelessness in North San Diego County, Interfaith Community Services works to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by Helping People Help Themselves. Interfaith is the most comprehensive social services agency in North County, providing both immediate safety net services and long-term, life-changing programs designed to meet the holistic needs of people in crisis. Together, in partnership with 250+ diverse faith communities, more than 650 recurrent volunteers, and a growing staff of over 200, Interfaith provides a safe haven and pathway towards self-sufficiency for more than 17,000 community members annually.


WHAT YOU WILL DO: This position oversees the Family Shelter and Behavioral Health Shelter at Interfaith Community Services and is responsible for grant compliance, staff supervision, and performs work to support the mission of Interfaith Community Services. The Program Manager will work to ensure the achievement of program goals and objectives, and contribute to program development and enhancement.


• Oversees Interfaith’s Family Shelter program, an emergency year-round, low-barrier, family shelter

• Oversees Behavioral Health Shelter, a year-round, low barrier, adult shelter for those with severe mental health needs

• Supervises all program activities including outreach, enrollment, placement, training and follow-up for grants to ensure that all projected goals are met for all programs

• Provides leadership to program staff, interns and volunteers. Conduct meetings and trainings to ensure program compliance and to enhance staff skills

• Attends and participates in program, agency and community meetings and trainings

• Works closely with departments within the agency to best meet the needs of clients

• Provides monthly/quarterly/annual reports as scheduled to the Contract Administrators, funders and Director

• Aids the Director in grant writing, program development and special projects

• Assists with budget development and compliance, and fiscal reporting

• Utilizes, collects and reports program data, including but not limited to HMIS and Efforts to Outcomes

• Monitors all staff job performance, completes evaluations, ensures on-going staff training and development, and participates in the hiring of staff for department

• Provides support with triage, assessment, crisis intervention and advocacy as needed

• Monitors and addresses client activities, program progress and supports with crisis interventions

• Establishes connections with appropriate private and public agencies

• Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field required; equivalent combination of work experience and education may be considered

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related filed preferred

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

• 2+ years of experience working in a Social Services or nonprofit setting required

• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role or increasing responsibility required
