Primary Function:

Performs First Article dimensional inspections maintains First Article samples and reports.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs First Article dimensional inspections and maintains First Article samples and reports.
  • Develops and programs Dimensional Laboratory equipment. Modifies and creates new programs for CMM and Vision Systems based on interpretation of complex drawings.
  • Conducts measurement system analysis (MSA) to support Engineering and Project/Program Managers.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Trains Quality Technicians on proper gauging techniques and the use of CMM, Vision Systems and other Quality related processes.
  • Maintains and updates metrology sample log with current status and updates APQP workflow.
  • Performs calibration of internal equipment as well as manages external calibrations as needed.


Requirements:

Required Skill/Knowledge

At least 2 years’ measurement and inspection experience. PC-DMIS. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, strong math skills, problem solving ability, strong verbal and written communication skills, MS Office, ability to operate CMM and Vision Systems, ability to use calipers, micrometers, strong attention to detail, GD& T. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities on manufacturing floor.

Preferred Skills/ Knowledge: (Ideal skill set)

CMM Manager, Measuremind Plus, Measure X, QC Calc, and MiniTab, Mitutoyo CMM machines, RAM Sprint vision system. FDA requirements, ISO 9001.

Education Level / Required Certification:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Additional Information:

Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license for travel between plants, will be exposed to odor of plastics, will stand, walk, reach, sit, navigate and carry items upstairs, may lift up to 35 pounds, will be on production floor, must be able to wear required PPE. Other duties as assigned.
