Reports to: Director of Quality

Position Purpose:

The Quality Control Technician adheres to all plant procedures and policies including food safety and quality. Any assigned tasks are accomplished and completed according to company standards.

An ideal candidate have should be familiar with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), be PCQI certified (Process Control Qualified Individual), as well as be familiar with SQF audits (Safe Quality Foods).

Candidates that have Quality Control experience but are not certified should be able to attain certifications within 12 months of employment.

Essential Job Duties:

- Conducts in process and finished product checks at established frequencies while the filling lines are operating including density, brix and percent light transmittance.

- Conducts incoming and outgoing packaging checks.

- Partner with Warehouse staff and Production staff to process out of specification product in a timely manner.

- Conduct routine analyses on invert sugar levels during the boiling process and during maple butter production.

- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

- Works safely and advises supervisor of potential safety issues.

- Understands and complies with all GMPs, food safety and food quality procedures.

- Communicates any issues immediately to plant management.

- Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma.

- Able to stand for up to ten hours a day.

- Be familiar and comfortable using laboratory equipment.

- Have the ability to write concise reports and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
