Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sourcing Strategist to join our team. As a Sourcing Strategist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for our operations within the Consumer Products Division. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage the end-to-end sourcing process. This position requires exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, along with a deep understanding of CPG, retail supply chain management and the water filtration industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers based on their ability to meet company requirements and standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including regular communication, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency

2. Sourcing Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies and ensure a reliable supply of goods and services.
  • Develop procurement consistency and alignment within the broader Culligan procurement strategy
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, evaluate market trends, and benchmark pricing and quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Continuously monitor and assess supplier performance via supplier scorecard to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide regular project status information to team members, including attending required meetings and follow-up on action items.

3. Supply Chain Optimization

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations, finance, and quality assurance, to understand requirements and align sourcing activities with business objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and lead Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) process improvements to reduce costs.
  • Analyze supply chain data, including inventory levels, lead times, and demand forecasts, to optimize procurement decisions and minimize risks.
  • Implement and maintain robust procurement systems and processes to streamline sourcing activities and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as supplier consolidation, contract renegotiation, and process improvements.
  • Maintain global supplier scorecard and actively drive problem solving efforts to close gaps to target.
  • Develop financial models to evaluate business cases and decision making

4. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies during the sourcing process.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on potential suppliers to assess their financial stability, reputation, and compliance with ethical and sustainability standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier capacity issues, geopolitical risks, and changes in regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Sourcing Strategist or in a similar procurement role within consumer products, retail or related industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles, sourcing strategies, and procurement best practices
  • Knowledge of injection molding, packaging and / or filtration required
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and sustainability practices in the water retail industry.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • 10-30% travel required
