Job Description

This is 1st shift (8:00a - 5:00p) position. MP is looking for energetic and reliable individual with good organizational skills. This individual must be capable of multitasking. Previous industrial experience is required. We offer full benefit package and competitive wages. The chemist will be responsible for organizing, managing and completing complex material design and process development projects.

Essential Functions

  • Function and contribute within a team environment
  • Organize, execute and plan development projects
  • Must be able to formulate, develop tests and create reports detailing outcome
  • Execute, refine and recommend improve testing methods.
  • Write work instructions for testing methods and R&D processes
  • Test raw materials and finished products
  • Record and organize test results
  • Handle and record hazardous waste
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as directed by management

Must be able to work in a chemical environment with fiberglass reinforcements. This position will be handling chemicals, weighing chemicals, handling fiberglass, mixing paste and pouring pastes.

Required Education, Experience and Skill

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 3-5 yrs. Industrial Lab Experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently and handle 55 gallon drums on dollies and lifts
  • Multi-task oriented with very good organizational and planning skills
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and understanding English
  • Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint computer programs
