Role Summary
We are in search of a skilled medicinal chemist to enhance our chemistry initiatives for various drug discovery projects within a collaborative team. Key responsibilities will include compound design, synthesis in our laboratories, coordination with contract research organizations (CROs), and providing broad support to the chemistry department. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to learn from seasoned medicinal chemists and drug discovery experts, applying structure-based drug design and modern hit-identification techniques to GPCR targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize contemporary knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry, including modern methodologies and multi-step synthesis.
- Independently design, execute, and troubleshoot synthetic routes for drug-like molecules.
- Analyze structure-activity relationship (SAR) data to inform design strategies.
- Employ computational modeling and SAR analysis tools to influence program direction.
- Communicate effectively and deliver impactful presentations.
- Collaborate within a team-oriented environment, considering the collective needs of the group.
- Demonstrate leadership potential in managing external CRO chemistry resources.
- Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, with or without postdoctoral experience; or a BS/MS with over 6 years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000, with variations based on individual qualifications and experience. Our comprehensive compensation package includes benefits, stock options, and an annual target bonus for full-time roles.
